• Co-ordinate and co-operate in a direct, close and lasting way with governments, official entities and all other bodies or companies about matters, relating to the shipping industry in general and to ship reporting in particular.
  • Communicate to its members matters of importance affecting the ship reporting services.
  • Provide a forum for discussion of the prevailing standards and conditions in ship reporting.
  • Communicate, as appropiate, the views of members to governments, organisations, the press and others.
  • Seek to co-ordinate the views of members in respect of working practices.
  • Provide a forum for discussion of technical issues including telecommunications related to the ship reporting services.
  • Take all such other steps as may from time to time be necessary in the interests of its members such as monitoring prejudical treatment of the ship reporting services by governments, authorities or other bodies and assist members in investigating and, where possible, taking action against any such prejudical treatment.
